Indie Designer Marketplace Ap0cene Just Expanded Into the Beauty Category

The drop emphasizes small labels over beauty giants.

Ap0cene, an online retailer known for spotlighting emerging brands and independent designers, has officially entered the beauty space. Just recently, it launched its first-ever beauty drop, featuring five cutting-edge brands across hair, nails, makeup and skincare. Unlike other beauty destinations, Ap0cene emphasizes that the drop was carefully hand-curated by humans, not algorithms.

“We expanded into beauty for one reason: our customers asked. There’s a fatigue around huge mega-brands that just don’t listen to what their customers have to say, by teaming up with agile and innovative brands we’re looking to offer something new,” co-founder Ariel Arakas says in a press release. Although Ap0cene has offered press-on nails in the past, this new release undoubtedly speaks to its impressive ability to tap in to the ever-changing beauty landscape.

The drop includes everything from ethereal shimmery shadows to high-impact, neon hair dyes. Among the brands featured, there’s AppleDoll: a clean, alternative makeup brand, SSONE: a simplistic New York City based nail polish brand, Glisten Cosmetics: an independent beauty brand that offers freckle pens and juicy lip stains, Jiudi: a bold hair color brand and Baude: an NYC body care brand emphasizing self care.

The Ap0cene beauty drop ranges from $10 USD – $36 USD and is available for purchase on the brand’s website.
