VEJA and Magliano Are Launching a World Cup-Worthy Sneaker
A shoe worthy of all the goals.
Attention all footy lovers: VEJA and Magliano just launched the only sneaker you’ll want to wear from now on. Teaming up with the Italian menswear brand, VEJA’s newest sneaker channels the spirit of the Cup with a pitch-perfect design inspired by the beautiful game. Fittingy named the Panenka after the great footballer and the even greater move he invented, World Cup fever is at an all-time high, and VEJA just spiked the temperature.
The sneaker draws inspiration from vintage soccer cleats, with paneled stitching creating a unique pattern on the upper reminiscent of ’90s jerseys and goals galore. Arriving in black and white, as well as a metallic pink, this collaboration is the perfect mix of old and new.
A folded tongue adds to the look, stamped with Magliano’s bright and bold branding. Contrast laces bring a touch of eccentricity the classic sneaker, nodding to Magliano’s signature style. Sustainability and organic materials are at the heart of the design process for the Panenka. Made in Brazil, the sneakers are crafted from leather, recycled polyester, organic cotton, bio-based EVA and Amazonian rubber.
The VEJA x Magliano Panenka sneaker will be available to purchase starting March 9 on the VEJA website and select retailers.
In other news, Mizuno’s new sneaker is a football boot and running shoe hybrid.
