All Your Favorite Celebs Are In adidas' New World Cup Film
And the Oscar goes to…
The World Cup is only a few weeks away, and the anticipation is building day by day. A good short film ahead of every tournament is football heritage at this point, and adidas quenched our thirst this year. Packing more names than you could ever imagine into a five-minute production worthy of multiple awards, adidas’ official World Cup film is here, and it’s perfect.
Led by none other than award-winning actor and football connoisseur himself Timothée Chalamet, Backyard Legends was always going to be a hit. With every frame, a new face pops up, reminding you just how deep adidas’ talent roster goes. NWSL champion Trinity Rodman teams up with two of the best young players in the world Jude Bellingham and Lamine Yamal to create a terrifying trio going up against an unbeaten local team.
With throwbacks to David Beckham, Alessandro Del Piero and Zinedine Zidane, Chalamet tells the story of the team that hasn’t lost on their turf since 1996. After reactions from the world’s best players, you think that’s as big as it gets, but if course, adidas has one last trick up their sleeve.
Bad Bunny and Leo Messi join in on the fun, and that takes the film from incredible to world class. This year’s World Cup is the biggest one yet, so The Three Stripes had to go all out for this one. Did adidas just produce an all-timer yet again? We think so.
In other news, Levi’s and England just dropped a World Cup denim collection.
