Kiko Kostadinov Heads to Tokyo for SS26
Capturing its accessories with longtime collaborator Kohei Kawatani.
For Spring/Summer 2026, Kiko Kostadinov headed to the outskirts of Tokyo to capture its latest accessories campaign through the lens of longtime collaborator Kohei Kawatani. Shot in his private studio, the campaign leans heavily into the atmospheric aesthetics of the Showa era. This is a visual trip that trades high-gloss polish for a sense of quiet nostalgia, letting the tactile details of the pieces do all the talking against a backdrop that feels beautifully aged.
The series is all about the tension between the old-school and the immediate. By referencing Showa-period interiors, the imagery evokes a softened light and a distinct edge, making the modern textile development and engineered silhouettes pop with even greater clarity. The collection is a masterclass in reinterpreting historical cues without looking like a costume; instead, it feels like a unified narrative where every object has its own space to breathe.
Kawatani, who’s spent years documenting the brand’s accessories, finally expands his focus to include full looks. The result is a consistent, disciplined photographic style that highlights the precision of each fabrication. From the textures of the knitwear to the sharp lines of the tailoring, the collaboration proves that sometimes, looking back is the best way to move forward.
The collection is now available to shop via the Kiko Kostadinov website.
