Vans and *Better With Age Are Embracing DIY With a New Sneaker Collab
Launching with iron-on patches for a personal touch.
There’s a new sneaker collaboration on the block, and this one is whatever you want it to be. Vans just tapped Los Angeles-based vintage luxury house *Better With Age for a collaborative drop that celebrates the beauty of reinvention. Making the old new again, the customizable collection is one of the brand’s best collabs yet.
The drop features two reworked, retro-inspired classics, designed to be tailored to the wearer’s taste. The LX Authentic 44 arrives with a sun-faded navy upper and a yellowed sole for a vintage feel. For fans of a high-top silhouette, the LX Half-Cab 33 comes in sleek, black suede, elevated by a leather tassel and dual-branded logos.
So where does the DIY come in? Merging the two brands’ aesthetics into one capsule, vintage iron-on patches and other accessories make each shoe one-of-one. If you happen to be in London on launch day, you can head to Dover Street Market to personalize your pair on-site, but if you’re not, line up your favorite patches and beads and turn the sneakers into your next project.
The Vans x *Better With Age collection will be available to shop at Dover Street Market in London on May 15, with a global release on the *Better With Age website later this month.
In other news, Saucony and Estudio Niksen dropped a new sneaker collaboration, too.
