Tyler, The Creator and Converse Give the Pro Leather a Bold, Chunky Upgrade
A summer refresh for your shoe closet.
Tyler, The Creator and Converse are back at it, and they are bringing a fresh, chunky energy to our sneaker rotations. The duo’s ongoing Converse 1908 program is expanding with its latest chapter: a totally rebuilt, future-facing take on the classic Converse 1908 Pro Leather, alongside two ultra-sleek leather iterations of the Converse 1908 Jogger.
First debuted in 1976 as a basketball staple, the Pro Leather has officially been reimagined for the next generation. Tyler draws inspiration from vintage b-boy culture and hand-crafted bootleg shop designs to give the silhouette a confident, exaggerated stance. The update features a wider toe box, oversized eyelet rows, chunky laces and a bold embossed star across the toe cap.
Crafted with a premium full-grain leather upper, the style keeps its heritage intact with classic perforated detailing, the iconic Star Chevron and debossed GOLF le FLEUR* branding on the tongue and lateral side. The gorgeous new silhouette is launching in two must-have colorways: a clean “White” and a rich, colorful “Amazon”.
To round out the capsule, the low-profile Converse 1908 Jogger is getting a refined, minimalist makeover. Moving on from previous nylon and suede iterations, the Jogger arrives in chic, versatile black and white leather executions that are perfect for pairing with your favorite casual fits.
Drawing from over 115 years of Converse design history, Tyler continues to prove he knows exactly how to push archival classics into the future.
The new 1908 capsule will be available to purchase starting July 16 on the Converse and GOLF le FLEUR* websites.
In other news, Sperry and Colbo dropped their third collaboration.
