TTSWTRS Explores the Body as a Living Canvas With "Black Orchid"
Drawing on Japanese visual culture and tattoo art.
TTSWTRS is leaning into the darker side of self-expression. For its latest collection, “Black Orchid,” the Ukrainian label draws on Japanese visual culture, tattoo art and the architecture of the body, exploring clothing as something that can reveal, protect and transform.
At the center of the collection is the black orchid, a symbol of rare beauty and inner strength that becomes both motif and mood. Across the lineup, sheer second-skin pieces trace the body, while sculpted denim, structured tailoring, dense knitwear, cruelty-free leather and oversized streetwear bring a sense of weight and armour to the collection.
Japanese references are woven subtly throughout, appearing in kimono-inspired proportions, calligraphic lines and artist seals, alongside a new black-orchid “mon,” the brand’s interpretation of a traditional family emblem. Tattooing remains central, with work from artists including Nissaco, Senshin Irezumi and Longboy translated across garments through digital and silicone printing, embroidery, embossing and layered applications.
Elsewhere, piercing-inspired hardware replaces traditional buttons, while TTSWTRS’ signature anatomical cut-outs return across jeans and leggings, following the natural lines of the body. The result is a collection built around contrasts of transparency and density, exposure and control. Rather than simply revealing the body, “Black Orchid” asks who gets to decide what is seen.
