Take a First Look at the Innovative Nike Epic React Flyknit

Providing comfort and top-tier traction.

Nike‘s new Epic React Flyknit silhouette is a part of the global sportswear brand’s cushioning revolution. The running sneaker features the most up-to-date foam technology. The React design has had over 17,000 miles run by elite runners. These tests have proven how innovative the shoes actually are.

Detailing includes a one-piece upper which allows for top-tier breathability and lightness. In a statement, Nike shared: “The forefoot, toe and arch are very sculpted thanks to the one-piece Nike Flyknit bootie. It’s minimal and close to the foot but still supportive.” The midsole and outsole run as a single React unit, paired with a rubber segment underneath providing grip and traction. Additionally, the sneaker is five-percent lighter and offers 10 percent greater energy return than the Lunar Epic 2.

Nike React designer Ernest Kim shared his thoughts on the design in an interview with HYPEBEAST Korea:

“Like custom shoes, it is a comfort fit for my feet. There are a lot of runners in the world, and each one has different running styles and preferred grips. But how could Nike wear Cinderella shoes on the runners’ feet? ‘Running continuously, running longer, running faster, faster running.”

Purchase the Nike Epic React Flyknit at nike.com and select retailers on February 22.
