Hedi Slimane‘s first collection for Celine was met mostly by disappointment by Philophiles and many in the fashion industry alike, although it was indeed a true reflection of the designer and the aesthetic he’s become known for throughout his career. Prior to the show however, the designer unveiled a first-look at his debut bag for the storied French luxury house, dubbed the 16, on Instagram.
For those who are fans of Slimane’s accessory designs, the 16 has just become available for pre-order from Celine. Available in five colorways – “Black,” “Nude,” “Brown,” “Light Burgundy” and “Amazone” green – the structured bag is constructed from sleek satinated calfskin leather. It boasts a leather top handle and an adjustable, removable shoulder strap, so you can style it in a myriad of ways. It’s also fairly spacious, with the roomy interior showcasing enough space for everything you could need on the day-to-day. Rounding out the look is the flap closure that’s secured by a branded brass twist lock and the chic leather key cover which also sports a gold-tone Celine padlock.
Take a look at the available options in the gallery above; the 16 is available for pre-order now on Celine’s web store for $4,550 USD. In related news, here’s what Hedi Slimane had to say to critics of his SS19 show.
