Celine Unveils the Official Name of Its First Hedi Slimane-Designed Handbag
Launching officially in November.
Recently, Celine‘s cult fans received a preliminary look at Hedi Slimane‘s first leather handbag for the fashion house via Lady Gaga. If her paparazzi shots weren’t enough, the accessory’s official name has been unveiled. Dubbed the “16,” the piece is conventionally different from the feminine designs from Phoebe Philo‘s reign at the label.
A drastic reckoning was slated to happen following Slimane’s appointment at the brand. If this piece points to a thematic change in the realm of accessories, fans are in for a wild ride. The name of the handbag derives from the couture house’s headquarters address located at 16 Rue Vivienne in Paris. Noticeable details on the classic bag include the sublime black leather it’s constructed with and the single top handle. According to British Vogue, the handbag will arrive in three sizes in different colors.
