Lauren Tsai's Hand-Painted Nike Air Force 1 Is One-Of-A-Kind
A custom beauty.
We’re obsessed with these Nike Air Force 1‘s that model and illustrator Lauren Tsai has custom-painted. Unveiled on Friday at a Nike Tokyo event, the originally all-white sneakers have received a special makeover inspired by comic books. Characters imagined by the Terrace House star can be seen throughout the upper of the low-top shoe, with bright red accents hitting the toe box, heel tab and Air branding on the sole unit. It appears that the one-of-a-kind design was created specifically for the Japan event, but we’re definitely hoping to see a shoppable Lauren Tsai x Nike collaboration in the future.
Apart from the Nike project, Lauren has also been keeping herself busy recently with the launch of her Marc Jacobs collab. The multi-talented creative has been tapped by the American designer to create illustrations for a range of products including handbags, wallets, T-shirts and hoodies.
To learn more about Lauren and her passion for art, be sure to check out our exclusive interview with her. Last year, the fashion darling also gave us a city guide to Tokyo featuring some of her absolute favorite places in the Japanese capital.
In other news, Nike has finally released its Cortez collaboration with COMME des GARÇONS ahead of the holiday season. Coming in black and white, the statement-making platform sneakers are a must-have for any style risk-taker.
