An Official Look at Gigi Hadid x Reebok's FW18 Capsule Collection
Featuring a revamped Aztrek silhouette.
Reebok has officially unveils its highly anticipated Fall/Winter 2018 collaboration with Gigi Hadid. The world-renowned supermodel was tapped to revamp the Reebok Freestyle Hi and popular Aztrek silhouettes which became the center of her capsule.
The aforementioned Freestyle Hi silhouette was initially released in 1982 and was known for being the first fitness sneaker designed for women. Aware of this history, Gigi wanted her capsule to not only inspire women, but to also push them to “keep their focus on pushing limits, defying expectations, and becoming your best self.” In total, the range is a six-piece, footwear and apparel collection. The colors throughout are inspired by the neon color pops of the ’90s.
The collaborative sneaker models include, two Reebok Freestyle Nova Ripple trainers and two Aztrek iterations. The former comes in “Black/White” in addition to “Chalk/Black” and is constructed with a clean leather makeup and hiking-inspired lacing systems. The latter also arrives in two colorways both “Black/White” and “Chalk/Neon Red.” The re-designed Aztrek include sleek leather uppers and standout detailing.
In an official statement, Gigi shares her thoughts on the design:
“This collection is about looking at the past and reinterpreting that creative boldness for today, for women who define their own style boundaries and aren’t afraid to challenge convention. I wanted to take classic Reebok clothing patterns and shapes and incorporate new cuts [and] crops, fresh colorways and fabrics [and] fits that I knew would be comfortable to workout and sweat in.”
