OMG, Have You Seen Starbucks' Ombré Color-Changing Drink?
It’s magical.
Starbucks well and truly stole our hearts with its Sakura pink drinks, but 2018 is the year of ultra violet, and its newest must-have beverage perfectly captures the magic that the purple hue has to offer.
Dubbed the Butterfly Pea Lemonade Cold Brew, this drink combines espresso with butterfly pea flower tea, which is known for it’s naturally blue tone and magical color-changing abilities. The drink is finished off with tangy lemonade and Starbucks Cold Brew.
The super-sensitive pH balance of Butterfly pea tea means it changes color when it experiences any shifts in acidity – so add in a slight squeeze of lemon and watch your drink turn from dark indigo blue to vibrant ultra violet. Expect to see this all over Instagram in no time – this is what the boomerang function was invented for, right?
You’ll be able to find this stunning drink at select Starbucks stores across Asia from February 20. There’s no word on if it will be available elsewhere yet, but why not check these all-pink tumblers out in the meantime?
