Nike's Air Max Plus Is a Pale Gold Delight In "Desert Sand"
It’s a winner.
The standout Air Max Plus silhouette is as popular now as it was when the experimental design was first debuted 20 years ago, in 1998. Since then, the Nike sneaker has been unveiled in almost every hue imaginable – from crisp “Triple White” to the luscious, velvet “Dusty Peach.” This shimmering pale gold iteration, dubbed “Desert Sand,” however, may be the most mesmerizing yet.
The mesh upper is overtaken in the soft, sandy hue, with subtle perforations knitted throughout for additional comfort and breathability. In trademark Air Max Plus style, wavy, ribbed details snake over the upper – this time reimagined in a metallic light golden hue. Panels above the midfoot and upon the heel also get the shiny treatment, as does the Swoosh branding on the lateral side. The classic TN stamp of approval adorns the back of the heel and tonal stitching and branding on the tongue complete the look. The innovative unit sits atop a white midsole with visible Air Max bubbles and across the center lies another golden hit.
You can shop this glistening sneaker at retailers like Lady Foot Locker for $170 USD. Don’t forget to check out what our readers voted as the best Air Max silhouettes – will the Plus make the cut?
