PUMA Teams up with Russian Animation Studio Soyuzmultfilm

Celebrating 50 years of the classic silhouette and Russian pop culture.

PUMA is celebrating the 50-year anniversary of its iconic PUMA Suede silhouette, and the sportswear giant has tapped Russian animation studio Soyuzmultfilm for an exclusive capsule. The collaboration features two iterations of the Suede – one blue and white, as well as a black and yellow version, complete with cute illustrations emblazoned across the upper of the shoe. Set to combine “the golden age of Soviet animation and modern sneaker culture prevalent in Russia today,” the two Suede models, feature Winnie the Pooh and Nu, Pogodi respectively.

The famous silhouette first debuted in 1968, and quickly gained popularity among fashions finest. B-boys, hip-hop artists, skaters and more were rocking the crep, making the shoe gain cult status in street culture. This  year, PUMA is honoring this by launching a total of 50 collaborations throughout 2018, with iconic brands like Hello Kitty, Karl Lagerfeld, Pepsi, Swarovski and many, many more.

The special Suede pack will be available in limited quantities in all PUMA stores, as well as online at PUMA. Take a look at the adorable collaboration in the gallery above, and celebrate 50 years of PUMA Suede.
