Watch How Dior's Latest Embroidered Book Tote Gets Made

Dior‘s Embroidered Book Tote is a head turner, that has been all over Instagram since its original debut at the brand’s Spring/Summer 2018 presentation. First seen in a multi-colored pattern, the accessory is now available in “Oblique Canvas.” There is no question that the expertly made handbag is on everyone’s summer wishlist. Not only would the carry-all be the perfect beach bag, it is also a great option to carry from season to season as the navy hue and canvas makeup are quite versatile. If you have ever wanted to see how the piece gets made, you’re in for a treat.
Back in April, we shared that a similar iteration takes more than 32 hours to come to fruition. Additionally, each bag consists of over one million stitches. In the minute-long video below, we see each significant design cue including the straps, the stitching and the large logo on the front. Though some components are added by machine, other major details are hand sewn and crafted expertly. Notably, the straps are given an immense treatment and are hand-sewn and tailored to get their perfect appearance.
