A Closer Look at Louis Vuitton's SS19 Collection, Including The Latest "New Wave" Bags
As well as plenty of monogram pieces and more from Nicholas Ghesquière.
Having already seen the price list of Virgil Abloh‘s highly anticipated Spring/Summer 2019 collection, we now take a closer look at the women’s side of things from Louis Vuitton. As the latest from designer Nicholas Ghesquière, the SS19 preview revealed plenty of must-haves from the forthcoming program. From the covetable heart-shaped “New Wave” bag, to a mini luggage bag, there is certainly no shortage of enviable pieces from the new arrivals.
For the latest range, the fashion house combines a space-aged theme with a distinct retro feel. Seen on an array of different clothes and bags, LV’s signature splash print is seen alongside a space motif. In addition, Ghesquière explores the line that separates masculinity and femininity, as can be seen with this season’s modern take on the tuxedo jacket. Playing with masculine collars, tailored waistlines and chic zippers, a new language of gender fluidity comes front and centre. In general, a large selection of pieces experiments with billowing silhouettes with large sleeves and extra volume a recurring design.
