Gucci's Luxurious New Fragrances Are Inspired by the Science of Alchemy
Take a walk through The Alchemist’s Garden.
Last year Gucci unveiled a new Instagram account, @guccibeauty, as a destination to share fragrance and cosmetics releases from the brand. Now, kicking 2019 off with a strong start, Gucci has revealed its luxurious new perfume range, The Alchemist’s Garden. As the name suggests, the line is inspired by the science of alchemy as well as nature and nostalgia, with the elegant bottles and packaging reminiscent of opulent vintage perfumes.
The Alchemist’s Garden collection comprises of a candle alongside three acque profumate and four oils, each of which can be worn alongside the eaux de parfums (of which there are seven) to transform and elevate the original scent. The scents range between fresh roses and deep amber to woody oud, so there’s a style to suit every taste. The names are as stunning as the product design, with the full lineup consisting of “A Song for the Rose,” “The Voice of the Snake,” “The Eyes of the Tiger,” “The Virgin Violet,” “The Last Days of Summer,” “Tears of Iris” and “Winter’s Spring.” Discussing the concept behind the scents Gucci’s creative director Alessandro Michele stated:
“The idea that some primary scents of perfumery, like the essences of the flowers, the green scent of some plants could be joined to atmospheres, linked to memories. And also link to the idea that a perfume in an alchemical way can through a scent bring you back to a different place, through a sense so strong and so important for every human being.”
You can shop Gucci’s The Alchemist’s Garden fragrances at retailers like Selfridges, with the eaux de parfums priced at $265 each USD. In related news, have you seen Gucci’s “Year of the Pig” collection?
