Selena Gomez Debuts Music Video for Second New Single "Look at Her Now"

Fans speculate the song is about Justin Bieber.

Just hours after releasing new single “Lose You to Love Me,” Selena Gomez premiered a second fresh song, “Look at Her Now,” and accompanying music video. The two new tunes follow the story of a relationship gone wrong and ensuing recovery, leading fans to speculate whether ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber served as inspiration.

Though Gomez won’t confirm who she’s referring to in “Look at Her Now,” lyrics such as “It was her first real lover / His too ’til he had another / Oh God when she found out / Trust levels went way down,” speculatively point to Bieber. Gomez kept it vague in a statement posted to YouTube: “It’s a reminder that you can rise no matter what challenges life brings,” she said of the single.

The video, shot on iPhone 11 Pro, was directed by Sophie Muller and focuses on Gomez and a squad of backup dancers, performing the club-ready single against technicolor neon lights. Glittery costumes feature heavily, including a disco ball top from Nicki Minaj‘s recently released capsule collection for Fendi.

Both “Lose You to Love Me” and “Look at Her Now” will certainly feature on Gomez’s upcoming album, rumored to be released later this year. The singer announced in a June 2019 interview with Jimmy Fallon that the album, her first in four years, is nearly done.
