Over the weekend, G-Dragon‘s highly anticipated PEACEMINUSONE x Nike Air Force 1 “Para-Noise” finally dropped. In case you were lucky enough to cop a pair of the sneakers, you might want to take a look at what is underneath the smooth obsidian exterior of the shoe.
At first glance, the matte black finish on the upper seems to be a chic, minimalist choice for the iconic K-pop star for his Swoosh collaboration. However, once the premium leather profile is removed, personal artwork by G-Dragon himself can actually be revealed. As a reflection of the artist’s optimistic perception towards art as a medium of self-expression, the vibrant abstractions are meant to convey his view of collective creativity unifying youth around the world.
As seen in previously unveiled imagery of the sneaker, other details include brisk strokes of black paint on the white midsole, as well as embroidered daisy motifs on the tongue. Thick white laces also add a unique touch to the coveted iteration. Sneaker collectors can also enjoy distinct co-branding on both the shoebox and tissue paper.
