Nike's Second "Evolution of the Swoosh" Collection Updates the Iconic Logo
The trio of new footwear packs includes seven popular sneakers.
Nike is set to release a second collection of footwear packs celebrating the brand’s iconic Swoosh, originally drafted in 1971, by graphic design student Carolyn Davidson. “Evolution of the Swoosh: Chapter 2” includes the ever-popular Air Force 1 and Air Max 1 alongside the Air Max 270 React, Flight 89, Air Max 200 and Air Max Plus.
The first of three packs, “Legend of Her” is comprised of the Air Max 270 React and Air Max 200. Laces are adorned with gold Swoosh charms, inspired by a gold Swoosh ring that Phil Knight gifted Davidson in 1983. The “Time Capsule” pack draws from the bold colors of retro Nike print ads. Five styles — the Air Force 1, 270 React, Flight 89, Air Max 1 and Air Max Plus — feature the Nike Swoosh outlined in white and layered with additional red and black logos. Lastly, the men’s “Future Swoosh” pack takes a futuristic approach to the Air Force 1, 270 React, Air Max 1 and Air Max Plus in a Matrix-like color palette, with lime green detailing.
Nike’s “Evolution of the Swoosh: Chapter 2” collection is set to release throughout winter exclusively at Foot Locker, Inc. in North America. The “Legend of Her” pack launches November 21, the” Time Capsule” pack on November 27 and the “Future Swoosh” pack, December 20.
