Shot by the iconic Bruce Gilden.
Gucci has unveiled its Pre-Fall 2020 collection and lookbook, lensed by legendary street photographer Bruce Gilden. Set against the streets, railways and canals of Rome, the collection is full of saturated separates (cherry red makes a frequent appearance), retro silhouettes with shiny sequin detailing and the revival of Tom Ford-era GG logo lingerie.
Famed Italian actress Benedetta Barzini doubles as a model, wearing one of the collection’s standout pieces, a deceptively simple full-length sequin dress in shimmery azure blue. Activist Bethann Hardison is also featured in the lookbook sporting a sunshine yellow gown and matching cape trimmed in gold at the collar. Blouses are unbuttoned to the navel to reveal sheer logo printed bras in black and mauve, while suiting takes on boxy, androgynous proportions. Footwear and accessories including thigh-high boots and structured handbags feature Gucci’s signature gold horsebit hardware. Separates including denim flares and babydoll mini dresses recall the ’60s and ’70s in shape.
