
'Forbes' Announces the World's Top-Earning Musicians of 2019
Taylor Swift, Kanye West, Ed Sheeran, Drake and Beyoncé earn their spot in the top 10.
With the year coming to an end, Forbes has finally revealed its annual list of the world’s highest-earning musicians of 2019. Ranging from hip-hop to pop and rock, this year’s list includes a diverse mix of artists where the top 10 alone have earned just over $1 billion USD in total.
Ranking first in line for her second time in five years is pop star Taylor Swift who earned $185 million USD thanks to a new record deal, endorsements and her most recent tour. Right below Swift is Kanye West who earned $150 million USD due to a surge in sales of his adidas YEEZY sneakers line. British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran takes the third spot earning $110 million USD while husband and wife duo Jay-Z and Beyoncé tie in sixth place with $81 million USD each. Canadian rapper Drake also lands a spot in the top 10 at eighth place with $75 million USD.
Among the top 40 include notable names like Rihanna at number 11 with $62 million USD, BTS at number 15 with $57 million USD, Ariana Grande at number 22 with $48 million USD, The Weeknd at number 29 with $40 million USD, Lady Gaga at number 32 with $39.5 million USD, Shawn Mendes at number 37 with $38 million USD and Celine Dion at 38 with $37.5 million USD.
