Peep the Velvet Shell Toe on adidas Originals' Chic New Superstars

Arriving in four tonal hues.

adidas Originals’ Superstar is undoubtedly one of the brand’s most instantly-recognizable silhouettes, thanks to the shell toecap. Although the classic, monochromatic versions have a timeless appeal, we’ve also seen the trainers arrive in a slew of on-trend variations, like the recent Valentine’s Day release. Now, the sneakers get a subtle yet chic makeover in tonal colors with luxe detailing on the toe, ensuring they’re the go-to shoe to take you from day to night.

Choose between black, off-white, dusky pink and faded blue – the former two feature a slightly textured leather upper whilst the latter two favor a brushed suede. All are completed with tonal details on the laces, Three Stripes on the lateral side, interior and midsole, with even the Superstar text branding on the sidewall blending into the upper. The premium touch, however, comes in the form of the matching plush velvet fabric that takes over the shell toe, giving the sneaker a real air of elegance.

Take a look at the Superstars in the gallery above; you can cop them from retailers like Overkill for €100 EUR (approx. $113 USD) now. In related news, check out our interview with adidas Originals’ latest collaborator, Ji Won Choi.
