Willy Chavarria Steps Into the adidas Originals World
To reimagine the brand’s signature tracksuits.
Willy Chavarria just stepped into the adidas Originals world, giving its most recognizable staples a fresh identity with “adiSignature.” Acting as creative advisor, the designer brings his distinctive approach to streetwear to the brand’s signature sweats, reworking familiar silhouettes for a new generation.
At the heart of the collection are adidas icons, including the Firebird and SST tracksuits, alongside hoodies, sweatpants, T-shirts, tanks and quarter-zip mock necks. Crafted from heavyweight brushed fleece, the pieces feature dropped shoulders, roomier fits and details that add more of a streetwear appeal. The familiar Three Stripes and Trefoil branding also get a fresh treatment, with ’80s-inspired color blocking sitting alongside vibrant hues and monochromatic moments.
Elsewhere, a premium NY block pack revisits an archival tracksuit from the ’80s, bringing a nostalgic sportswear reference into the present. The idea behind adiSignature is simple: creating pieces designed to be lived in, worn on repeat and styled in a way that feels personal, and also to appeal to a new-gen.
The launch is accompanied by a campaign shot and directed by Brianna Capozzi, featuring a diverse cast in candid moments as they reflect on identity, relationships and memories. Using color as a symbol of happiness and unity, the imagery expertly captures the joy that makes sweats a universal wardrobe staple. This is your answer to looking cool and keeping cozy.
The inaugural “adiSignature” collection launches on October 23 via the adidas website.
