A Closer Look at Nike's Self-Lacing Adapt BB "Reflective Silver/Photo Blue"

The game-changing sneaker is dropping soon.

At the tail end of last year, Nike announced that it had plans to introduce its ground-breaking, self-lacing silhouette – the Adapt BB – to basketball courts by 2019. Now, we take a closer look at one of the model’s very first colorways: “Reflective Silver/Photo Blue.” With the intent of pushing boundaries on game-ready footwear, the forthcoming sneaker is surprisingly affordable considering its innovative technology.

Retailing at $350 USD per pair, the basketball shoe is designed to provide a truly unique, customized fit to its wearer. Using the Nike Adapt app, the shoe will tailor its fit at the touch of a button, either tightening or loosening as desired. The app also allows the wearer to adjust the midsole’s color and also to monitor the trainer’s battery life.

In terms of construction, the upper is rendered with a mesh textile that optimizes breathability. Rounding off the look is a translucent blue outsole, complemented by a large silver Swoosh on the side panel. Although details are still sparse regarding an exact release date, you can shop the Nike Adapt BB soon at select stockists such as Feature.

In other sneaker news, don’t miss Nike’s latest Air VaporMax Plus in an ombré “Lava Glow” colorway.
