Held at the O2 Arena on Wednesday evening, the 2019 BRIT Awards honors some of the most outstanding British as well as international artists in music. Following the star-studded red carpet session, which saw celebrities dressed up in show-stopping dresses and dapper suits, the night began with an impressive performance by Hugh Jackman, who took the stage with more than 100 dancers to perform the opening track from his critically acclaimed musical, The Greatest Showman.
Jorja Smith and The 1975 were among the first to receive an award tonight. With her widely popular debut album Lost & Found, the 21-year-old songstress was honored British Female Solo Artist. The four-piece rock band, fronted by Matt Healy, won in the British Group category. They also picked up the British Album of the Year later this evening for their self-produced record, A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships.
Dua Lipa and her collaborator Calvin Harris won the best British Single with their smash hit, “One Kiss.” Harris was also crowned British Producer of the Year.
