Ariana Grande Pays Tribute to Mac Miller During Her First 'Sweetener' Tour Stop
Another homage to the late rapper.
Last year, rapper Mac Miller tragically passed away from a drug overdose. Following the devastating loss, Ariana Grande broke her silence on her ex-boyfriend’s death by paying tribute to him on Instagram as well as in the song “thank u, next,” where she sings “Wish I could say thank you to Malcom, ’cause he was an angel.”
The singer has just embarked on her Sweetner tour, and at one of the stops at the Times Union Center in Albany, New York, Grande played Mac Miller’s track “Dang!” with Anderson .Paak, which released in 2016 as a part of his album The Divine Feminine. The subtle tribute didn’t go unnoticed by fans, who quickly took to social media to recognize the sweet homage. The singer has earlier shared that she will not be performing her single “Ghostin,” which many believe is about the late rapper, on the Sweetner tour. Despite this, fans can still expect all of her hits including “7 rings” and “break up with your girlfriend, i’m bored.”
Take a look at the reactions from fans following the Mac Miller tribute below.
