Kakao Friends x Vans Debut a Graphic-Filled Sneaker Collection
Created in collaboration with Korean artist Hyunye.
Vans unveils an official look at an upcoming footwear collaboration created alongside Korean artist Hyunye. The lineup features the beloved characters of Kakao Friends. Since Hyunye is best known for her customization work on Vans and other accessories, the collaboration includes hand-drawn characters and doodle style graffiti.
Headlining the capsule collection is the Vans Era silhouette. This design arrives in orange and comes with irregularly printed doodles of the character Apeach skateboarding and surfing.
Up next in the range is the Old Skool emblazoned with a sunflower pattern showcasing Ryan at the center. An additional silhouette in the lineup is the Vans Sk8-Hi in blue. This design includes all the Kakao Friends characters reinterpreted in a blurred vision on each side panel. Lastly, the Slip-On in sky blue is created with Con printed on the sidewall and heel back in skateboarding positions.
The Kakao Friends x Vans collaboration will be available on May 3 at select Vans retailers and online. Take a look at the designs in the gallery above.
