Pro Skater Nora Vasconcellos and adidas Debut a "Living Coral" Sabalo Slip-On
A new silhouette in a dreamy colorway.
adidas‘ first female pro skater, Nora Vasconcellos, debuted a signature shoe with the brand last year and she’s following up with yet another unique sneaker this spring. This time, Vasconcellos takes on the Sabalo silhouette, updating it with a Slip-On style in place of the usual lace-up finish.
The trainer boasts a luxe, nubuck upper in a coral “Clear Orange” hue, with Three Stripe detailing on the elasticated sides. On the midfoot, a Trefoil emblem and Nora’s name are embroidered in purple, one of Vasconcellos’ favorite colors and below, the sturdy midsole features a pastel pink wave slicing through the otherwise white sole. Another key detail is the floral pattern that lines the interior, even extending out a little so it’s visible around the heel. Discussing the design concept, Vasconcellos shared:
“Artwork for me is the best part about designing a shoe. The collage and drawing inside is a cool touch because it’s somewhat of a hidden detail. I also like how the collage comes up around the opening of the sneaker, it all reminds me of a garden. It’s vibrant and subtle at the same time and it’s a nice surprise.”
