From the girls’ tactical uniform to their bold eye looks.
Gearing up for its debut Coachella performance, K-pop girl group BLACKPINK has finally released its highly-anticipated EP Kill This Love today with a stunning music video to boot. With a catchy, addictive chorus, the title track of the four-piece’s new album has quickly become one of our favorite K-pop releases this year. The accompanying visual, jam-packed with fashionable wardrobe changes and numerous dramatic makeup looks, is just as incredible.
Taking style cues from Jennie, Lisa, Rosé and Jisoo, we have put together a handy guide to recreating some of the most memorable fashion and beauty moments from the music video of “Kill This Love.” From tactical outfits to neon-hued separates, continue reading to find out where you can shop similar items as seen on the YG quartet.
Tactical Uniform
Embracing the utilitarian fashion trend, the girls of BLACKPINK are styled in tactical ensembles made up of Lara Croft-esque crop tops, black leather gloves, leg pouches as well as knee-high combat boots. In particular, Lisa is spotted wearing a chest rig by Matthew Williams‘ label, 1017 ALYX 9SM, while Rosé accessorizes her Me Dic Al cropped jacket with a buckled belt from Kim Jones‘ Dior Men Spring/Summer 2019 collection.
Fiery Red Eye Makeup
In another outfit, Jennie serves up major, festival-ready makeup inspo with her daring, rosy eye makeup. To recreate this mesmerizing look, reach for a matte red or pink eyeshadow and apply the shade to both the eyelid and beneath the lower lash line, creating a smudgy, winged shape at the outer corner. As a final touch, draw a vertical stroke on the center of the eyelid and right below the eye with a shimmery eyeliner — the subtle detail is really the star of this easy-to-achieve eye look.
Long, Flowy Dress
Here, Rosé is outfitted in a feminine, floaty dress from Alexander McQueen‘s SS19 collection. Coming in a vibrant, yellow color, this floor-length gown is designed with ruffles that move gracefully with the wind. For a similar effect, check out these equally flowy styles from Loewe, GANNI and LVMH Prize-winning Korean brand, rokh.
Neon-Colored Separates
The group assembles again, this time in four different outfits accented by pops of fluorescent color. Jisoo is seen donning a one-shoulder dress by buzzy French designer, Marine Serre, while Lisa layers a black leather bustier on top of a neon orange shirt printed with an all-over diamond pattern.
Punk Rock Princess
Towards the end of the music video, the four BLACKPINK members are given a punk rock makeover, with each of them styled in toughened-up pieces like a leather jacket by Maison Mihara Yasuhiro and a pair of embellished jeans by 1017 ALYX 9SM. While chokers may be the natural choice of accessory here, the girls are also seen wearing dainty hair jewelry and bracelets that are fit for a princess.
The Perfect Winged Liner
For the final look, Lisa is done up with the sleekest winged eyeliner and feathery, perfectly separated lashes. To achieve her makeup, all you need is a steady hand and a reliable liquid eyeliner like these cult-loved options from Kat Von D Beauty, Fenty Beauty and MAC Cosmetics. Finally, define your upper and lower lashes with the mascara of your choice.
