Chanel Beauty‘s Fall 2019 “NOIR ET BLANC” makeup collection is proof that monochrome tones don’t need to be boring. Created with the symbolic black and white shades of the Chanel logo in mind, the range features essential colorless, yet glamorous pieces. Inspiration was taken from the life of Gabrielle Chanel including the architecture and interiors of Paris at the time and black and white photography and cinematography. She once said:
“Women think of all colors except the absence of color. I have said that black has it all. White too. Their beauty is absolute. It is the perfect harmony.”
A translucent, sparkly LE GEL PAILLETÉ arrives for highlighting. The silky gel is inspired by shimmering water and can be used to create high-sparkle beauty looks or to add a simple, dewy sheen. For eyes, two new LES 4 OMBRES eyeshadows are introduced. The creamy smooth eyeshadows come in a “Noir Suprême” palette which features warmer brown tones and “Modern Glamour” which is made up of cooler tones of silver, white and matte black. The OMBRE PREMIÈRE TOP COAT colorways are ideal for the outer layer of bold eye looks with “Pénombre” sparkling in black and gold and “Carte Blanche” inverted in white and silver. STYLO YEUX WATERPROOF eye pencils are included in contrasting black and white colorways as well.
Three lip products are featured in the range. The ROUGE COCO GLOSS comes in a pigmented “Laque Noire” black cherry shade as well as a subtle “Crystal Clear” gloss. If you prefer matte textures, more colorways of the ROUGE ALLURE LIQUID POWDER have released, coming in muted “Bois de Nuit” and “Timeless” hues. Finally, ROUGE ALLURE VELVET EXTRÊME lipsticks add some color to the collection in rosebud and burgundy shades. To round out the makeup line, LE VERNIS nail polishes land in pure black and white.
