Upon releasing the GEL-KAYANO® 5 360 sneaker created in collaboration with ASICS, Awake NY has now teamed up with creative studio Chroma to raise awareness of migrant rights. The collaboration features a T-shirt printed with the text “PROTECT PEOPLE NOT BORDERS.”

In the partnership announcement on Instagram, Vashtie is seen wearing the new item. Drawing attention to migrants at the US-Mexico border, the tee arrives in two languages – English and Spanish. With the text in red, the back of the garment lists out a few legal rights “IF DETAINED BY ICE,” such as requesting an attorney, remaining silent and not signing any documents.

The Chroma x Awake NY “PROTECT PEOPLE NOT BORDERS” tee is available to purchase now exclusively at Awake NY’s online store for $50 USD. All proceeds will be donated to two organizations: Al Otro Lado, which provides medical and legal support to immigrants, and Casa Arcoiris, which supports the LGBTQ+ migrant community in Tijuana.

In case you missed it, Frankie Collective is giving away eco-friendly toothbrushes for free to further is sustainability initiative.
