BIMBA Y LOLA Gets Weird in 'The Cosmic World of Kelsey Lu'

Putting the ‘extra’ in ‘extra-terrestrial’.

Step off-planet with BIMBA Y LOLA‘s #thisisCOSMIC AW20 campaign that throws you into the alien world of musician and artist Kelsey Lu. Taking an irreverent look at the domestic life of an extra-terrestrial, the campaign sees Kelsey portraying a visitor from another world trying – and almost succeeding – to pass for human.

Kelsey Lu’s presence in such an eccentric campaign should come as no surprise. Her unique, aberrant personal style is perfectly suited to tell a story of an otherworldly visitor that uses BIMBA Y LOLA’s distinctive, original aesthetic as a canvas to express individuality. Throughout her career she’s utilised her training as a classical cellist to inject unique fusions of jazz, pop and folk into her collaborations with some of the most exciting artists around, including Dev Hynes, Skrillex and Solange Knowles.

Stand out items include slime green heeled boots that also come in assorted shades of snakeskin. Alongside these is a sci-fi bag range that features chrome chain-linked straps, a reappearance of the snakeskin and some bold patches featuring the brand’s logo.

Watch the film above and take a look at the pieces available now on the BIMBA Y LOLA webstore.
