As the coronavirus pandemic continues to impact the world, the fashion industry is seeking new ways to showcase collections and navigate the retail market. Gucci has now announced GucciFest, a digital fashion and film festival where the luxury house will premiere its newest collection while spotlighting rising talent such as Mowalola and Yueqi Qi.
Showcased throughout a miniseries of seven episodes, the “OUVERTURE of Something that Never Ended” collection will feature the likes of Harry Styles, Billie Eilish, Arlo Parks, Florence Welch and more. Directed by Alessandro Michele and filmmaker Gus Van Sant, the series highlights artist and actress Silvia Calderoni in the city of Rome. Each installment will be premiered throughout GucciFest. In addition to the short films, the festival will also reveal fashion films celebrating 15 independent young designers, ranging from Collina Strada and Rui Zhou, to Ahluwalia and Gareth Wrighton.
GucciFest is scheduled to take place from November 16 to 22 via exclusive broadcasts on YouTube Fashion, Weibo and GucciFest.com. The full program will be announced on November 13.
