Gucci Drops Collaborative Capsule With Doraemon
The universally loved robot adorns classic GG monogram items.
Shortly after teasing a three-way partnership with The North Face and Pokémon GO, Gucci has now released an expansive capsule in collaboration with the Doraemon franchise. The team-up was first revealed through a series of accessories in the luxury house’s Cruise 2021 collection.
Comprised of more than 40 items, the range celebrates the 2112-born cat-type robot that was sent from the 22nd century with its four-dimensional pouch. The classic GG monogram serves as the base on coats, jackets, shorts and track pants that are adorned with Doraemon motifs throughout. Keeping true to the Gucci brand’s roots, iconic green-and-red stripes run down the sleeves and along the hem. The same theme is seen on a collection of handbags and wallets, which are accented with a rich red hue. Elsewhere, the Rhyton and Ace sneakers are stamped with the manga character, as well as a phone case and 40mm Dive watch.
