Accounts to Follow in Order to Stay Updated and Informed
Resources to stay up to date with news, as well as education on racism, injustice and police brutality.
Right now, the world is going through one of its most impactful and important protests in years, focusing on ending the oppression of black people across the United States – as well as throughout the world. Many black Americans have died in the hands of the police, but the horrible killing of George Floyd on Memorial Day weekend was the last straw, and it ignited the whole nation to stand against police brutality.
In a time like this, nothing is more important than staying educated and informed. We have unlimited access to the internet, where we consume information on the daily through social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, but with so much content and so many opinions, it can be hard to find legitimate sources and accounts that are truly providing information on what is currently going on, as well as resources to learn about racism and oppression.
We are in the process of compiling a list of accounts you can follow on social media in order to continue staying informed regarding updates, news and resources. We also encourage you to share any accounts or websites you are finding helpful in the comments below, or through our social media channels.
Note: This list will continue to be updated.
As you continue to reflect on this week, we ask that our participants, facilitators, and readers strive always to do the work. Read, listen, learn, speak out–and act. Be well, and do the work. pic.twitter.com/fyb5qIHMqt
