You Can Participate in Daily Live 'Tetris' Competitions for a Cash Prize

The mobile app is receiving a major revamp, allowing competitors to win from a $5,000 USD prize pool.

A classic, retro game loved across many generations spanning from the ’00s Game Boy days to the latest Nintendo Switch craze, Tetris is being reborn as a daily competition show that anyone can participate in. Launching on the official mobile appTetris Primetime will take place every night, where players can compete to win cash from a $5,000 USD prize pool.

The format of the new contest is similar to that of HQ Trivia – it’ll feature a host running the show, along with highlights of the best plays of the day. The competition will air all seven days of the week, with multiple rounds happening at 7:30 p.m. locally in a total of 16 countries including the United States, Canada, UK, Sweden, Germany and Australia. In addition to Primetime, new updates for the Tetris app include a battle royale mode where 100 players compete against each other to become the last one standing, as well as other modes that allow users to play private multiplayer games with real-time voice chat.

You can head over to Google Play or App Store to download the Tetris app on your mobile device.

In related news, The Sims will be debuting a reality competition show where players can compete to win $100,000 USD.
