Get Ready for a Reality Competition Show Centered on 'The Sims'
One winner will take home $100,000 USD.
The Sims has some unexpected news for its fans: the beloved game will team up with entertainment brand ELEAGUE and Buzzfeed Multiplayer to debut a reality competition show, The Sims Spark’d, in which players participate in a series of game-based challenges for a chance to win $100,000 USD.
12 contestants will be faced with creative challenges to build stand-out characters, worlds and stories within The Sims 4. Judges including singer Tayla Parx and YouTube personality Kelsey Impicciche, two longtime fans of the game, will determine who will take home the six-figure grand prize.
“Since its inception, The Sims has been a groundbreaking experience, allowing players to create and virtually live out the stories they create in-game. That’s what makes it so special,” said Lyndsay Pearson, executive producer of the enduring game. “That’s also why this show is so exciting. We’re continuing that innovative spirit, bringing our community together to compete and showcase their in-game storytelling on a reality show in an entirely new way.”
Indeed, The Sims has an expansive base of dedicated fans who create and record music videos within the game, upload tutorials on how to create custom clothing as well as participate in challenges on social media centered around the franchise.
The Sims Spark’d premieres on July 17 at 11 p.m. EST, on TBS. Watch the official trailer for the show above.
