Vivienne Westwood x ASICS to Drop Sack-Inspired GEL-Kayano 26
Running shoes complete with a touch of British punk.
Vivienne Westwood and ASICS have teamed up to craft a set of street-ready kicks this season. Having initially emerged on the British designer’s Fall/Winter 2020 runway, the collaborative sneakers are finally arriving soon.
The GEL-Kayano 26 silhouette dons a minimalistic feel in tonal black and white designs. Mixing innovation with style, the partnership takes inspiration from Westwood’s iconic sack shoe first revealed in the ’80s through her Nostalgia of Mud collection. The technical sneaker is wrapped with a layer of netting complete with a throat toggle at the top. Underneath, ASICS’ signature branding is spotted on the sides. Contrasting the conceptual look, the shoe sports a running-focused FlyteFoam midsole with GEL cushioning for maximum support. Meanwhile, the rear is complete with Westwood’s iconic Orb logo peeping through the overlays.
