Selena Gomez, Hood By Air and More Design Merch to Encourage Voting
Launching at Dover Street Market, the items benefit non-profit When We All Vote.
Dover Street Market and non-profit When We All Vote are teaming up to encourage voter registration and participation in the upcoming presidential election. The duo enlisted 25 brands and artists to design voting-themed merchandise, all of which will launch at Dover Street Market in New York and Los Angeles. 100 percent of profits from the items will go back to When We All Vote, an organization that works towards closing the age and race voting gap.
In partnership with Bravado, Universal Music’s brand management division, Selena Gomez designed a black hoodie printed with a blue and pink rendition of the When We All Vote logo. Hood By Air created a white T-shirt bearing “NEW WORLD CITIZEN” on the front and “SHITSHOW” in varsity-style lettering on the back. A long-sleeve tee by Cactus Plant Flea Market features text pointing out that “100 million eligible voters did not vote in 2016” while a pullover sweater by Marc Jacobs reads “CHOOSE YOUR FUTURE. VOTE.” alongside a daisy graphic. Additional participating brands include Stüssy, Vaquera, Denim Tears and Off-White™. Tags on items will feature scannable voter registration barcodes, further encouraging participation.
The When We All Vote x Dover Street Market collection launches at Dover Street Market New York and Los Angeles, as well as the Dover Street Market website, on September 26.
