Gwyneth Paltrow's Vagina-Scented goop Candle Explodes in Woman's Home
“The whole thing was ablaze and it was too hot to touch.”
Gwyneth Paltrow’s vagina-scented candle, a collaboration between the actor’s goop brand and perfume company Heretic, exploded in a UK woman’s home. Jody Thompson, who won the candle in an online quiz, had to throw the product out of her front door after its flame erupted, causing what she described as an “inferno.” Thompson, who is a media consultant, described the bizarre incident to The Sun: ”The candle exploded and emitted huge flames, with bits flying everywhere…I’ve never seen anything like it. The whole thing was ablaze and it was too hot to touch,” she said.
Paltrow, whose vaginal health advice has been widely criticized by doctors, released the “This Smells Like My Vagina” candle in January 2020. According to the goop website, the scent is made with “geranium, citrusy bergamot, and cedar absolutes juxtaposed with Damask rose and ambrette seed to put us in mind of fantasy, seduction, and a sophisticated warmth.”
