The Weeknd's Drama Series 'THE IDOL' Is Coming to HBO

Starring Lily-Rose Depp, Troye Sivan and more.

The Weeknd‘s drama series THE IDOL is coming to HBO.

Comprised of six episodes, the upcoming show features Lily-Rose Depp in addition to cast members Troye Sivan, Suzanna Son and Steve Zissis, as well as Melanie Liburd, Tunde Adebimpe, Elizabeth Berkley Lauren, Nico Hiraga and Anne Heche. Filming is scheduled to take place in Los Angeles with direction by Amy Seimetz.

Francesca Orsi, Executive Vice President, of HBO Programming shared: “When the multi-talented Abel ‘The Weeknd’ Tesfaye, Reza Fahim and Sam Levinson brought us THE IDOL, it was clear their subversive, revelatory take on the cult of the music industry was unlike anything HBO had ever done before.”

Stay tuned for a trailer and release details for the series co-created by The Weeknd himself, Reza Fahim and Euphoria‘s Sam Levinson.
