Rui Hachimura Honors His Japanese Heritage With an Air Jordan 8

Hitting shelves in February 2022.

Washington Wizards power forward Rui Hachimura is launching his first retro Air Jordan, a premium AJ8 decked out with details honoring his Japanese roots.

The sneaker comes in a mostly tan colorway mixing “Twine” and “Sesame” hues with hits of red on the tongue branding, heel tab and outsole. The tongue swaps out traditional Jumpman branding for Hachimura’s “H” logo in chenille. Hachimura’s logo also appears on the shoe’s printed insoles and in the release’s special edition tissue paper. A true collector’s item, the shoe comes in exquisite packaging featuring an illustration presumably based on himself.

The Hachimura AJ8 will release on February 18, 2022 on the SNKRS app, Nike’s web store and at select retailers with a $225 USD price tag.
