Clubhouse Has Reportedly Been Hacked, Leaking 1.3 Million Users' Data Online
Including names, photos, social media handles and more.
Clubhouse, an invite-only, audio-based app, has reportedly been breached. According to Cybernews, 1.3 million users registered to the platform had their personal information leaked online including their user ID, name, photo, social media handles and more.
However, shortly after the news broke out, Clubhouse took to Twitter to state: “This is misleading and false. Clubhouse has not been breached or hacked. The data referred to is all public profile information from our app, which anyone can access via the app or our API.” While this somewhat offers clarity to the issue, this sort of situation still raises some concerns toward Clubhouse’s privacy policy.
Clubhouse has not released any other statement on the matter. Stay tuned while we wait for more details about the leak.
