Park Seo-joon Confirmed To Star in 'Captain Marvel 2: The Marvels'

The actor has already flown out of South Korea to start filming.

UPDATE (September 5, 2021): After over three months of speculation, it has now been confirmed that Itaewon Class star Park Seo-joon is set to join the cast of Captain Marvel 2: The Marvels.

“We thank the many people who have shown interest and support for Park Seo-joon as he takes on this new challenge,” Seo-joon’s agency, Awesome Entertainment, shared in a statement. “We are well aware that many people are curious about the name of the film in which he will be appearing, his character, the filming location, and his filming schedule, but we plan to reveal the details of the movie at a later date.”

The actor has already flown out of South Korea to start filming. The sequel will feature Brie Larson as Captain Marvel, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau and Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel.

ORIGINAL STORY (July 30, 2021): Following rumors last month, sources are stating that South Korean actor Park Seo-joon is now confirmed to star in Captain Marvel 2: The Marvels.

The full cast listing on IMDb suggests that Park will appear in the film alongside Brie Larson, Zawe Ashton, Teyonah Parris and Iman Vellani. The Itaewon Class star’s agency Awesome Entertainment has yet to respond, but the rumors are expected to be true. While Park’s role in the upcoming movie is unknown as of now, platforms like ScreenRant are predicting that he will play one of the main hero or villain characters.

If Park is officially confirmed to star in Captain Marvel 2, he will become the third Korean actor to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe following Claudia Kim and Ma Dong-seok. Stay tuned as we learn more about Captain Marvel 2: The Marvels set to premiere in November 2022.
