Drake's 'Certified Lover Boy' Album Has Finally Arrived

Featuring collaborations with Jay-Z, Travis Scott, Tems and more.

UPDATE (September 3, 2021): Drake‘s sixth studio album, Certified Lover Boyis finally here. “A combination of toxic masculinity and acceptance of truth which is inevitably heartbreaking. Executive produced by me, Noah ‘40’ Shebib, Oliver El-Khatib and Noel Cadastre. Dedicated to Nadia Ntuli and Mercedes Morr. RIP,” Drake describes on Apple Music.

The 21-track record features collaborations with Lil Baby, Lil Durk, GIVEON, Jay-Z, Travis Scott, Future, Young Thug, 21 Savage, Tems, Project Pat, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross and Kid Cudi. Originally scheduled to drop last summer, Certified Lover Boy went through a series of delays due to reasons like Drake recovering from his leg surgery in October 2020.

Early last month, the rapper confirmed the album was complete and promoted it via billboards in Atlanta, New York City, Chicago and Nigeria in honor of his collaborators’ hometowns.

You can now steam Certified Lover Boy via Spotify and Apple Music.

ORIGINAL STORY (August 30, 2021): Last week, Drake momentarily took over ESPN‘s SportsCenter program in the style of a broadcast hack. The Canadian rapper was seen holding a piece of cardboard with a handwritten message, “CLB September 3,” hinting at his Certified Lover Boy album release date.

Now, the Grammy Award-winning artist has finally confirmed the record’s launch date. Taking to Instagram, Drake posted the album’s official artwork designed by British contemporary artist Damien Hirst. The cover features 12 “Pregnant Woman” emojis in different skin tones.

On an episode of OVO Sound 42’s Fri Yiy Friday on Sirius XM earlier this month, Drake shared that Certified Lover Boy was complete. “Album’s cooked. Looking forward to delivering it to you,” Drake said. “OVO, we aim for the head, we don’t aim to please. Certified Lover Boy on the way, and that’s for anyone in the way.”

Certified Lover Boy will drop on September 3 via all major streaming platforms.
