Robert Pattinson to Potentially Star in Bong Joon-ho Film
The project will be based on Edward Ashton’s upcoming novel, ‘Mickey7.’
Following his monumental win at the 2020 Oscars for Parasite, Bong Joon-ho is reportedly working with Warner Bros. on an untitled film based on an upcoming novel titled Mickey7 by Edward Ashton.
According to Deadline, Robert Pattinson might be cast in the movie. However, it has not been officially confirmed yet by either party. Other than taking on the role as writer and director, Joon-ho will also produce the project through his production company Offscreen alongside Dooho Choi for Kate Street Picture Company and Plan B.
While the untitled movie will be influenced by the Mickey7, Joon-ho might have his own unique take on the plot. For those unfamiliar, Mickey7 follows the tale of Mickey7 who is “an Expendable: a disposable employee on a human expedition sent to colonize the ice world Niflheim.” If a mission becomes life-threatening for the crew, Mickey must take over. “After one iteration dies, a new body is regenerated with most of his memories intact. After six deaths, Mickey7 understands the terms of his deal…and why it was the only colonial position unfilled when he took it,” as per Deadline‘s description.
Stay tuned while we wait for more details on the film’s title, cast and release date.
