All Is Bright and Cozy: ESPRIT Revives Colorful '80s Essentials for the Modern Day

The ARCHIVE RE-ISSUE capsule collection casts a rosy eye back at the optimistic fashion of the ‘80s.

The ‘80s: the decade of Back to the Future, Salt n Pepa and brightly colored sportswear. Nearly four decades later, iconic brand ESPRIT is bringing back its classic silhouette in the new year as part of its Global brand relaunch kicking off 2022 with a NEW YEAR, NEW SPIRIT energy.

Drawing on ESPRIT’s pioneering spirit of inclusivity and sustainability, the ARCHIVE RE-ISSUE capsule collection brings back bold, branded T-shirts and sweatshirts for the ultimate in cozy essentials. With eye-catching colors of white, fuchsia pink, aqua blue, dark purple and black for the T-shirt; heathered grey, yellow, cardinal red and ultramarine for the sweatshirt, the capsule puts its famous logo, conceived in 1979 by renowned graphic designer John Casado, front and center.

The materials are soft on the skin, breathable, and above all, able to be worn all day long: the T-shirts feature heavy 100% cotton jersey, while the sweatshirt is a blend of cotton and poly terry fleece. Staying true to its founding purpose, ESPRIT continues to celebrate real people and togetherness, mixed with a hint of the rebellious spirit of the 1960s in which it was conceived.

The ARCHIVE RE-ISSUE capsule will launch exclusively on HBX on January 6, 2022, before stocking globally at select ESPRIT locations worldwide from February 1, 2022. With further capsule collections in the works, stay tuned for more ‘80s-era nostalgia only from ESPRIT.
