Mandy Moore Believes Olivia Rodrigo Should Do 'A Walk to Remember' Reboot
“I would love to see it,” says the actor.
In honor of the 20th anniversary of A Walk to Remember, Mandy Moore revealed she believes the beloved film should receive a reboot starring Olivia Rodrigo.
“I would love that,” the This Is Us star told PEOPLE about the movie being recreated. When asked about who would make the perfect Jamie Sullivan for this new generation, Moore said, “I don’t know, Olivia Rodrigo or something like that. Someone could redo this film.”
Moore continued, “I would love to see it. It’s been long enough that, yeah, I feel like we’ve earned our place in cinematic history for a reboot at this point.”
Rodrigo has yet to respond to Moore’s comments about taking part in a reboot for A Walk to Remember. However, it’s quite possible it could happen someday, especially considering she’s not closed off to acting. “I really don’t know where my career’s going to go in the next five years or in the next 10,” the “drivers license” singer told GQ in August 2021. “I’m really grateful that I get to be doing both [acting and singing] now. I just think it’s about finding projects and writing songs I feel really passionate about.”
